“Dogs are no different. You want to make sure they are eating a balanced diet, and if they are not an active dog, make sure that their food is reflective of an inactive dog and then get them out there and throw that ball and get them running.”
-Michelle Obama (March 4, 2013; Let's Move Campaign)
If Ms. Obama is sincere, why is it that the federal government, i.e., the NPS/GGNRA,
is arbitrarily and aggressively removing the few places we have left in this densely populated urban area
where we can exercise our dogs?

Ocean Beach Dog Owners Group is an organization devoted
to promoting and ensuring responsible off-leash recreation at San Francisco's Ocean Beach.
Our Mission:
To hold the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA), a branch of the National
Park Service, and the City of San Francisco to their promise to respect the historical usage of San Francisco's
Ocean Beach as an off-leash recreation area. This promise was codified in the enabling legislation for the GGNRA and the 1979 Pet Policy.

"It is from numberless diverse acts
of courage and belief that human history is thus shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot
of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million
different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression
and resistance." Robert F. Kennedy

"Never, never
be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society's punishments
are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way."
Martin Luther King, Jr.
